About LandmarkGuessr

LandmarkGuessr is an independent geography game and landmark atlas. Our aim is simple: connect a memorable photograph to a real place, then give you a reason to remember it.

The first collection covers 60 landmarks in 12 countries. It is a curated selection, not a ranking of the world’s most important places. More places can be added when their photographs, locations and sources are ready.

How the atlas is made

Each monument has its own location, photo credits, visual clues and source links. We use heritage institutions, monument operators and other primary references for historical information. We write the explanations for this site and keep location data consistent between the game and the guides.

Photo difficulty is a game-design choice. A landmark marked Hard is less familiar or harder to recognise in the selected photograph; that label is not a statement about its historical importance.

Our corrections policy

Photos and maps can be imperfect. If something looks wrong, use the correction link on a guide or contact us. Include the page, the issue and a useful source. We review the shared data so a confirmed correction can update every place it is used.

An independent game

LandmarkGuessr is not affiliated with or endorsed by GeoGuessr. Our focus is photographs of identifiable monuments, a casual daily challenge and readable guides. There are no accounts, paid plans or advertising trackers in this release.
